Privacy Policy — Cleanup Studio

Also known as the “Salesforce Org Cleanup Assistant” Chrome extension. Last updated: 12 July 2026.

Summary: your data never leaves your browser. Cleanup Studio performs all analysis locally and communicates only with your own Salesforce org, using your existing session. There are no external servers, no analytics, and no data collection of any kind.

1. What the extension accesses

• Your Salesforce session cookie (sid) for the org host you are on — read locally so the extension can call that org's API on your behalf, exactly as Salesforce's own Setup pages do.
• Salesforce metadata from your org (fields, flows, LWC/Aura, Apex, triggers, reports, permissions, objects) via that org's REST/Tooling/Bulk APIs — read to produce the “safe to delete” analysis.
• Field values only when you explicitly click “Export data backup” for a specific field during the optional deprecation workflow. That data is written to a CSV file you download; it is never transmitted anywhere.

2. What the extension does NOT do

• It does not send any data to the developer or to any external/third-party server.
• It does not use analytics, tracking, advertising, or telemetry of any kind.
• It does not see or store your Salesforce password. It reuses your existing session and inherits exactly your permissions — it can never access anything you cannot.
• It does not sell, share, or transfer any data. There is nothing to sell — no data ever leaves your device.
• It does not delete anything automatically. It produces review lists and downloadable deployment files; you perform any deletion yourself.

3. Local storage

To make rescans faster and remember your settings, the extension stores the following only on your own computer, using the browser's extension storage (chrome.storage.local and IndexedDB):

• Scan results (metadata names, verdicts, and counts — not record data).
• Your settings and your locally-built “cleanup list.”

You can clear all of it anytime via Settings → Clear cache, or by removing the extension.

4. Permissions & why they're needed

• cookies — to read the Salesforce session cookie so API calls authenticate as you.
• storage — to cache scan results and settings locally (above).
• tabs — to open the Cleanup Studio page and detect the Salesforce tab you're on.
• Host access to *.salesforce.com, *.force.com, *.cloudforce.com, and *.salesforce-setup.com — to call your own org's Salesforce API. No other hosts are contacted.

5. Third parties

The extension contains an optional “Support” link that opens the official donation page of Circles Indy (a nonprofit) in a new browser tab. This is a plain outbound link — the extension embeds no payment form, collects no payment information, and shares no data with any third party.

6. Children

Cleanup Studio is a professional developer tool and is not directed to children under 13.

Any changes to this policy will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
